Al Musanaa Air Base in the Sultanate of Oman continues activating its operational roles at the air operation theatre as per the Swift Sword 3 military exercises currently carried out by the Sultan’s Armed Forces in cooperation with the other military, security and civil organizations in the Sultanate with participation of the Royal British Armed Forces.
Air Vice Marshal Matar bin Ali al-Ubaidani (photo), Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman (Head of the Exercise Control) visited last week Al Musanaa Air Base to review the current events and readability for the subsequent stages for the Omani and British air forces, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
The Air Vice Marshall, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman (Head of the Exercise Control) and senior officers were briefed on the achievements made and the air duties as well as the military measures taken with the British air forces to address the hypothetical air challenges.
At the end of the visit, the Air Vice Marshall, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman (Head of the Exercise Control) praised the roles and effective efforts by Al Musanaa Air Base and the air support provided to the land and marine troops deployed at the operation theatre.
Meanwhile, Thumrait and Masirah airbases, which take part in the Swift Sword/3 continue their operational role at the air operation theatre.
Lt. General Ahmed bin Harith al- Nabhani, Chief-of-Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (Exercise Manager) and Rear Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis al- Raisi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (Exercise Deputy Manager) visited Masirah Air Base to follow up the events and readability to support and implement the subsequent stages for the Omani and British joint air forces.
At Masirah Airbase, the Chief-of-Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (Exercise Manager) and the Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (Exercise Deputy Manager) and senior officers were briefed on the achievements made and the air duties, as well as the military measures taken with the British air forces to address the hypothetical air challenges.
Chief-of-Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (Exercise Manager) then headed to Thumrait Airbase where he reviewed the operational readability at the air operation theater.
Rear Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis al- Raisi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (Exercise Deputy Manager) headed to the maritime operation theatre to follow up the role of the marine forces and the Omani and British vessels in providing the necessary support to the joint land troops and the joint air force at the operation theater.
Chief-of-Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces ( Exercise Manager) praised the roles and effective efforts by the air bases and navy vessels in providing the necessary support to the joint land force spread over the land operations theatre to carry out the tasks assigned to it according to the plans and events of the exercise to achieve the joint national work.
